Hello world! I'm still in the world of the living. Worse for wear after the last few months, but still alive and kicking. I finally gave in and allowed myself the opportunity to heal. I'm being vague and it's for a reason. I don't think I'm ready to share all of me yet. And god that's always been my biggest issue. The fear!

So many things have happened to me within the past five months. Some good; some not so good. I'm trying to work my way back into the flow of things. I don't know if the real life hardships I've experienced have made my fannish participation next to impossible, but just know that I'm here and I'll try to be around more often.

- Prompts are being accepted for the newest round of springkink. Please read instructions carefully and submit prompts here.

- The Choose Your Author deadline @ yaoi_challenge is fast approaching. The Obscure Fandom/Pairing challenge is next, deadline to be set for sometime in May. I am trying to set up 4 regular annual challenges at the community to be run on a schedule; challenges that can become tradition.

- It's getting harder and harder to get monthly volunteers for try_this_fic. I'm thinking of changing the format up, just slightly. Maybe getting regular reccers who can post recs as they discover them. I'm not sure right now, still mulling things over.


I've had a tough last couple of months so I'm just trying to get things back up and running.

- I'm incredibly excited about the amazing turnout for the 100 Days of Color project. We've almost got every single day filled. But even if we don't meet our goal, just the thought of the awesome picspams, fanmixes, meta/essays, fic that will be coming our way; every single one of them about a character or entertainer of color. Ahhhh!

- I'm sorting out master lists and tags for the two dead communities that I'm attempting to bring back to life [try_this_fic and reflections_2 - both dedicated to anime/manga/video games fandoms]. I need to work out the next challenge for yaoi_challenge which desperately needs some activity.

- I'm going to ask for submissions for the Hottest Anime Character of 2009 sometime today. Don't know how that will go over. It's all in fun!

Choc_fic is hosting a 100 day long celebration of characters - and famous people from all forms of media - of colour.



Each day (we hope) to have at least one volunteer post something that focuses on a real person or character of colour. It could be fic, art, picspams, icon sets, essays/meta, collections of fic recs... anything that celebrates the fabulousness of their chosen character or individual.



I'm hoping that some of you will join and share your thoughts, creations, or reccomendations focusing on one or more of your favorites. From Alec Hardison to Sendhil Ramamurthy to Zoe Saldana to Charles Gunn to John Cho to Janelle Monáe, there's bound to someone amazing you can shine the spotlight on.
